Speakers

 Lars Aagaard

 CEO
 Danish Energy Association

Since Mr. Aagaard was appointed CEO of the Danish Energy Association in 2009 his main focus has been on safeguarding the interests of the energy sector - and securing its position on the global market for energy technology solutions - a sector which will play a pivotal role in the struggle for implementing the ambitious political visions of becoming independent of fossil fuels in the years to come. Communicating highly complex energy policy to a broad audience, politicians and journalists, in particular, is one of Mr. Aagaard’s skills and high priorities.

Currently, Mr. Aagaard is supervising Danish Energy Association’s work on Smart Grids in 2020. The work is aimed at forming policy recommendations within the context of the Smart Grid Network set down by the Danish Climate and Energy Minister, Lykke Friis. The Network involves strong cooperation between the electricity sector and other relevant parties, including Energinet.dk (TSO), Danish Industry Association, research institutions and numerous other interest groups.

Mr. Aagaard has obtained his professional and technical knowledge through his MSc in Public Administration and through his management career as Head of Division in The Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs, Climate and Energy section of DI Confederation of Danish Industry, and from 2006 to 2009 Vice President of the Danish Energy Association.
